Touhu

Touhu, a traditional Chinese pitch-pot precision sport. A robot retrieves arrows from a rack and throws them into a pot, one at a time and entirely on its own, for three minutes. Every arrow that goes fully in and stays in is worth five points. The organiser ran two divisions, split by how the robot moves, and published a final for each.

How a result is structured

Touhu result definition

Official
Official result as published by the WHRG Organising Committee. RoboPodium reproduces it unchanged.
  • Five points per arrow that fully enters the pot and does not bounce back out. An arrow resting on the rim scores nothing.
  • The final score is the task score less any penalty. The organiser publishes all three figures and RoboPodium holds all three.
  • Ranked on total score. A tie is settled on hit rate, then by a playoff round or the referee.
  • The contest is capped at three minutes. Time taken is published beside the result and is not part of it.
  • Wheeled and Legged are separate divisions and are not ranked against each other.

Known unknowns

  • The sheets publish a total score and no arrow-by-arrow record, so RoboPodium holds no individual throw. Where a score is numeric the arrow count follows from it, because the rules fix an arrow at five points.
  • Hit rate cannot be calculated. It needs the number of arrows thrown, which is published for no competitor.
  • What the penalty column is for is not stated. Every row in both finals shows zero.
  • The autonomy coefficient reads 1.0 on every row. Nothing in the held rules gives it an effect on the score, the ranking or eligibility.
  • The Legged division ranks two teams second and third on no valid task score. That is the organiser's published order and RoboPodium does not recompute it.
